A Foshan furniture market trip usually means two places. The first is Lecong (乐从), a town in Shunde District where the market's own figures count more than 180 furniture malls around the Louvre International Furniture Exhibition Center. The second is Longjiang (龙江), the production town about 14 km to the south. Plan one full day to scan two or three malls for a single room or category, two to three days to furnish a home or compare several categories, and one more day for each factory district you follow up. By road, Lecong is about 42 km from the Canton Fair complex in Pazhou and about 130 km from central Shenzhen. Most buyers hire a car and driver because the malls are spread out and samples pile up. Where the Foshan furniture markets are: Lecong and Longjiang
Lecong is the retail and wholesale showroom district. Lecong Furniture City started in the 1980s. By its own count it now has 180+ malls, over 4 million m² of operating area, over 10,000 distributors and about 3,000 manufacturers, and receives around 50,000 foreign buyer visits a year (as reported by GDToday, October 2025). The malls sit along the main roads through town, several kilometres apart, so you can walk inside a mall cluster but not between clusters.
Longjiang is the production side: a full-chain furniture cluster, from materials to finished products, with its own exhibition-trade centres (Nanfang+). Factories are not walk-in; visits work when a supplier has given you an address and a time. Longjiang also runs its own furniture fair twice a year. The 50th edition was held on 19–22 August 2026 (Nanfang+). When we checked, the spring 2027 dates had not been announced.

Hours are from the Louvre's website and GDToday. Shops often close earlier than the building, so plan serious meetings for about 10:00–17:00.
How many days do you need in Foshan for furniture?
Most buyers need one full day in Lecong for one room or one product category, two to three days to furnish a whole home or compare several categories, and one more day for each factory district they follow up, usually Longjiang or another part of Shunde. The malls are the constraint. The Louvre alone has 21 themed pavilions, and Sunlink North has 13 buildings next door. With a quote, a WeChat contact and a photo at every serious stop, two or three malls a day is a realistic pace. If a showroom says it is the manufacturer, book the factory visit for the next day rather than squeezing it into the afternoon. Project buyers sourcing FF&E for a hotel or several villas often need four days or more, because custom sizes and finishes lead to second meetings. Allow extra time around Canton Fair week, when the malls are busier.

By public transport. The Louvre's own directions use the Guangfo Line to Kuiqi Road station, exit C, then bus 255A or 255B to the 家具博览中心 (Furniture Exhibition Center) stop. Foshan Metro Line 3 has run end to end since 18 June 2026 and passes through Lecong town. We could not confirm which station, if any, is within walking distance of the main mall strip, so do not plan on taking the metro to the door.
No ferry from Hong Kong Airport to Shunde. The airport's SkyPier ferries go to nine mainland and Macao ports, none of them in Shunde, and they carry transfer passengers only (Hong Kong International Airport, checked 29 September 2026).
Why most buyers use a car. The malls are kilometres apart, samples pile up, and a Lecong–Longjiang–Guangzhou day has three legs. A driver who waits at each stop handles all of that. Intercity rail and flights are booked and paid by you; we meet you at the station.
October 2026: Canton Fair week and Foshan
Phase 2 of the 140th Canton Fair covers building and furniture, housewares, and gifts and decorations. It runs 23–27 October 2026 at the Pazhou complex, with no exhibition on the interval days either side.

How buyers usually split it. Use 20–22 October to see the malls and current styles, then walk Phase 2 knowing what to compare. Or walk the halls first and use 28–30 October for factories you met there. The Lecong furniture association reported foreign buyers overflowing from the spring 2026 fair to Lecong, so book hotels early.

Next window: March 2027. The International Famous Furniture Fair (3F) runs 16–20 March in Houjie, Dongguan; CIFF Guangzhou runs 18–21 March (home furniture) and 28–31 March (office and commercial, CIFM/interzum) in Pazhou. The overlap means moving between Dongguan, Guangzhou and Foshan in one week.

Factory, trading company or showroom? Practical checks
Many Lecong showrooms front a factory elsewhere in Shunde; others belong to trading companies buying from several factories, or to brand retailers. None is a bad answer, but each changes what you pay for and who fixes problems later. These checks help:
- Business licence (营业执照). Ask to see it. The Lecong chamber advises buying from shops that display their licences. You can look up the registered name and scope on China's National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System.
- Production address. A factory can usually give you a production address and invite you to visit. If the answer is vague, assume a trader.
- Payee name. Check that the account you pay belongs to the company named on your contract, not to an individual.
- A written order. The chamber's buying advice lists what to put in writing: item list, specifications, materials, quantity and price; payment method; delivery and acceptance; installation; and who handles after-sales. It also publishes a standard Lecong sales contract template.
- Samples and finishes. For custom pieces, sign off a sample or a photographed finish board before production.
- Touts. The chamber warns about people who follow buyers around the streets recommending shops or transport companies.
This is practical buying hygiene, not legal advice. Your escort can ask these questions and read the licence with you, but cannot vouch for a supplier; for vetting or inspections, hire an inspection firm. After a purchase, each mall has an after-sales line, and the chamber lists the Lecong market management office (0757-28972086) as the town-wide channel.
Interpreter, driver or sourcing agent: who does what
Buyers on forums keep asking for someone who translates and drives without steering them to "preferred" suppliers. That is a different job from sourcing.

Practical notes: holidays, payments, shipping and where to stay
- Chinese New Year. Chinese New Year 2027 falls on 6 February. For 2025, the Louvre announced an 11-day closure around the holiday. Many factories stop for longer, so confirm with suppliers before planning a January or February trip.
- Payments. Link a foreign card to Alipay or WeChat Pay before you arrive and carry some cash. Keep the contract, chat record and receipt for every deposit.
- Shipping. China Travel X does not arrange freight. Choose a forwarder before you buy in volume, especially if items come from several malls and need consolidating. Ask what "delivered" means in their quote (to the door, to the kerb, or unloaded and placed), and check import duties with a customs broker in your country.
- Where to stay. Stay in Lecong itself (the Louvre complex has a Sofitel) for multi-day market trips, or in Pazhou if Canton Fair hall days come first. Hotels are booked and paid by you. We can suggest districts that fit your route.

Do I need an agent to buy furniture in Foshan? Not necessarily. If you know what you want, a bilingual escort and a car let you run the day yourself. Finding, vetting and managing suppliers is a sourcing agent's job.
Can I buy just one or two pieces? Many showrooms sell single pieces, especially in the retail-oriented malls. Wholesale-focused shops may quote minimums. Shipping one or two pieces internationally can cost a large share of the item price, so get a freight quote first.
