One climate

Harbin is ice, short daylight, and a heated car between outdoor blocks. The south is Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong in mild weather. Christmas is a public holiday in Hong Kong, and a normal working day on the mainland. The two climates are not one itinerary. A week that tries both is mostly a flight. Opening dates and holiday rules stay in the season guide. This page does not list a price.

    Ice city

    Three or four city days: the ice park, Central Street, one second site, plus the travel day. Do not bolt on the south.

  2. If the south

    Mild Christmas

    Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou in one direction. Five to seven days covers all three. Fewer days means drop a city.

  3. Not both

    The other climate

    The season guide explains why a week cannot hold both. A longer trip that does both is a different brief.

  4. With children

    Cold or mild

    Small children point to the south. Harbin days are short outdoor blocks, not a full park day for a toddler.
